Welcome!
Ms. Amanda Bruckerhoff
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
Hello TMP Families,
I hope you are having an amazing summer! It is crazy to think we are only a few weeks away from the first day of school... I look forward to seeing you soon!
This is the first TMP Tidbits newsletter of the 24-25 school year. This newsletter, which I send via email (usually on Fridays), is where you can find important information and updates about Two Mile, CPS, and our school community!
I believe relationships should be at the heart of everything we do. It is important to me that I personally know all of our students and parents and I want TMP to feel like a family! If you are new to our school, here is a little bit about me:
This is my fifth year as principal of TMP and I truly believe I have the best job in the CPS! TMP is an amazing place because of all of you...the parents, students, teachers, and staff. Thank you for making our school so special. Prior to becoming the principal of TMP, I was the assistant principal at Russell Boulevard Elementary for 8 years. I also taught third grade at Derby Ridge and kindergarten at Rock Bridge Elementary. I have my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Leadership and Policy Analysis.
I was born and raised in Columbia and I love this town! I am a proud graduate of our public schools and the University of Missouri. In my free time, I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible! I love planting flowers, gardening, or reading on my patio. Summer is my favorite season...I hate winter and being cold! I also enjoy traveling, Mizzou football season, and spending time with family and friends.
As a principal, I am passionate about place-based learning (more on that to come) and making learning authentic and relevant. TMP is a place-based agriculture school. That means we work to teach our curriculum and standards through an Ag Ed or outdoor lens whenever possible. We have a stocked pond, a school garden, chickens, an outdoor classroom, and even a student-planted field with pumpkins, corn, and sunflowers
Our school motto is One Heart. One Home. One Two Mile.
Our hashtag is #PrairieProud.
At TMP, being Prairie Proud means:
Persevere when things are difficult.
Respect ourselves and others.
Open-minded to thoughts, ideas, and challenges.
Uplift others in our community with kind words and actions.
Dependable; others can count on us.
If you need anything, please never hesitate to reach out.
As a friendly reminder, my last name changed as did my email.
If you have a returning student, you can remind them of this change. :)
Bruckerhoff is pronounced like Brooke-er-hoff.
Prairie Proud,
Amanda Bruckerhoff
